Must Have Monday

July 13, 2015

Must Have MondaysMonday mornings always make me reflect on the week ahead and my outfit choices for the various meetings, work and events I have lined up.  This also bring about a reflection of what is missing in my closet.  I am carefully curating my wardrobe to make sure everything in there makes sense and fits my style aesthetic.  You won’t find anything trendy in there. I have grown comfortable into my style so I make sure that all new purchases fit into this package. I have a few items I want to add to my closet that and my room.  Some are a bit pricey but if you calculate according to cost-per-wear, the items are so worth it.

‘Cocktails’ Matches: I nabbed this cute box of matches yesterday after brunch with my friend Marissa at Pink Olive in Park Slope.  The store has the cutest accessories, hostess gifts and children’s clothes.  These matches set me back $12 but they are so chic and come in the most beautiful black and gold box.

Alsen ‘Charo’ Espadrilles: I am in the market for a new pair of espadrilles for my upcoming trip to Martha’s Vineyard.  I looked around at Soludos, Sperry and even considered buying Chanel but then I stumbled on Alsen, a European brand that’s been a cult favorite for some of my favorite bloggers.  The Charo Espadrille comes in tweed, which is a bit different for summer. I also love that it has an elevated platform for extra height.  This will be perfect for boarding a plane, brunching with friends around the island or paired with white denim, a striped top or denim button down and a cute fedora.

Tory Burch Tuile Beach Towel: I love the pattern on this Tory Burch beach towel.  It’s plush, over sized and perfect for lounging at the Inkwell Beach or chilling poolside at my parent’s house.

Julie Vos ‘Tinsley” Bangles: I own several Julie Vos accessories and can attest to their quality.  As I step up my arm candy game a bit more, I am looking for some stack-able bangles that will compliment my watches and other accessories I already have in my jewelry chest.

MVMT Gold Pearl Leather Watch:  I own several watches but they have either silk or metal bands. I am looking for a good quality leather band watch to add to my collection and this one by MVMT is the perfect fit.  I love the large open face, which is sleek and works for both casual and dressy outfits.  Best of all, it’s only $115. Score!

Gianvito Rossi SuedePumps: I blame you Kate Middleton, for making me a fan of suede shoes.  I have too much black in my shoe closet and save for my Louis Vuitton ‘Oh Really’ pumps, navy or blue shoes are missing from my collection.  I tried on this pair of Gianvitto Rossi suede pumps in navy at Bergdorf Goodman and fell in love.  The pumps are a tad high but I’ll get used to walking in these in not time.  After all, I do rock my 5.5 inch Louboutin Lady Lynch when the mood strikes.  This pair works with everything. I can spruce up jeans and a comfy tee or step up my game in a white midi skirt and a navy top.

Deborah Lippmann ‘Undressed’ Nail Polish Set: I gave you a sneak peak of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last week.  For those of you who have early access, you need to get your hands on this nude set from Deborah Lippmann.  Each color in the collection flatters various skin tones and is perfect for those times you want to take a break from color on your nails.  Plus you can channel your inner Olivia Pope in a nude shade this summer.

Rachael Ruddick Archway Choker: I am obsessed with Rachael Ruddick accessories. You’re going to love everything in her collection, from her bucket bags to her statement accessories.  This sleek Archway Choker is a statement in itself and looks amazing with an open neck top, button down shirt or even a turtleneck come fall.
