Jane Iredale The Skin Care Makeup Starter Kit Review

Spring ushers in a new makeup routine.  One that is light, airy and effortless.  With the rise in heat temps means your makeup formulas have to work double duty in order to stay on.  Jane Iredale just introduced its new Starter Kits, which with everything you will need to create a gorgeous veil that still allows your skin to breath.

The jane iredale starter kit comes in a beautiful zip up case that is small enough to fit in your work bag or travel bag.  The kit has the Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener, which has anti-aging properties that even skin tone, minimize the appearance of pores and increase luminosity; PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation that gives you a look that’s sheer and semi-matte; Amazing Base® Loose Mineral Powder gives you a look that’s creamy and buildable; and jane iredale’s Hydration Spray, reformulated and awarded ECOCERT’s Natural and Organic certification. It also comes with a makeup brush for application.

The primer and hydrating spray samples in this kit was nice.  The primer goes on light and keeps makeup intact.  The hydrating spray keeps the skin hydrated throughout the day and is worth carrying around and using it to refresh your makeup throughout the day.

As for the mineral foundation and lose mineral powder, the colors aren’t as broad as I would like them to be.  Their darkest color left my skin very ashy.  The deepest foundation shades are not suited for women of color with darker skin tones.  Both formulas are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as effective UVA/UVB sunscreens.

The kit retails for $55 at janeiredale.com.
