I take serious care of my natural hair and finding the right products to protect my dry, brittle and sometimes damages strands can be a daunting task. For the past five years, only four hair brands have managed to wow me.
I have been using the new L’Oreal Total Repair 5 system for the past two weeks and I actually love this line. It’s my first time using L’Oreal hair care and I am surprised at how well the products work. The shampoo is rich and a little goes a long way. It doesn’t strip my hair of the little oil it has.
The Total Repair 5 conditioner is incredible. It’s thick and creamy, and leaves my hair smooth and soft. I didn’t need to use too much elbow grease when I started detangling my hair, something many other conditioners don’t do so well. Both products retail for $6.99 at CVS and come in huge bottles that will last you a while.
I loved the Total Repair 5 shampoo and conditioner so much that I went back and bought the Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm and the Total Repair 5 Extraordinary Oil. The Damage Erasing Balm claims it is a “reconstructing balm that repairs up to one year of damage in 1 use. Both powerful and luxurious, the balm instantly repairs the 5 signs of damage – split ends, weakness, roughness, dullness, and dehydration. Reverses damage to hair’s smoothness with daily use, when using the system of shampoo & balm.”
I definitely saw a difference in the feel of my hair. It wasn’t as dry and brittle as normal. I usually end up having short pieces on the floor after brushing my hair, with this balm, I saw a lot less because my hair wasn’t as dry and damaged. My fine hair felt plump and had more volume than usual. The oil is a must have for all hair types. I use it every other day on my hair along with my hair butter to keep my hair moisturized.
I decided to take my boring pony tail to new heights by taking a little effort to try a new hair style. This loopy milkmaid braid has gotten so many compliments that several Instagram followers have asked for a video tutorial.
