I’m a bit obsessed with Taylor Swift’s entire look at the Grammy Awards. The country songbird has been shying away from the flowy ethereal gowns and instead opting for body conscious gowns that flatter her tall, lean frame. As much as I loved her silver beaded chain mail Alberta Ferretti gown, the complementing makeup was to die for.
Keeping the focal point of her look to her eyes with silver shadow in the inner corners of the eyes, Taylor’s makeup artist, Lorrie Turk, kept the singer looking youthful with pink lips. The slightly smokey eye was achieved not with black liner but a purplish blue color from Trish McEvoy for a bit of zhuzh!
Here is how to get the look, as told to Pret-a-Reporter:
Turk left Swift’s skin and lips simple to allow the eyes to pop. To get the sultry smoked look, she started with MAC Paint Pot in Clearwater (sea foam) all over the eyelids and followed with Kevyn Aucoin shadow in Cool Smoke from eye shadow duo 203. She lightly brushed this smoky gray shadow in the crease and below the eyes before lining the upper lash line with Trish McEvoy gel liner in Arabian Nights. “It’s a fabulous purplish blue color with real pop,” says Turk.
For highlight and sparkle, she added Chanel Illusion D’Ombre eye shadow in Fantasme (silvery white shimmer) to the inner corners of the eyes, and then finished with coats of Armani Eyes to Kill mascara.
