When Sarah Jessica Parker announced the launch of her shoe line, SJP, last June, every fashionophile responded with glee. After all, her character Carrie Bradshaw made us swoon over Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin for years. An image from the SJP line was unveiled via Racked today and sadly, I am not that excited about the black pump.
The ‘Diana’ pump, which will retail for $365, resembles the Manolo Blahnik ‘Campari’ Mary-Jane pumps Carrie freaked over in the Vogue closet. SJP’s version has diagonal straps with a buckle on the side, instead of the horizontal stripe on the Manolo version. Her shoe is also eerily familiar because the resemble my Guess by Marciano pumps I bought back in 2006 or 2007 at Macy’s.
I am hoping the rest of the shoes from her line are more fabulous and unexpected than the ‘Diana,’ a style I have been wearing for more than seven years. Although I have to say the style is a timeless classic so it’s no wonder SJP had to have it in her collection.
