Since Banana Republic’s announcement of its collaboration with Kate Middleton’s favorite brand, Issa, we’ve all been on pins and needles. What many wondered was whether the navy wrap dress the Duchess of Cambridge wore during the engagement announcement in November 2012 would be recreated.
The wait is over! All the CopyKates out there will be excited to know that the dress will indeed be recreated (in navy and plum) and will retail for $130. The dress is pretty similar to Kate Middleton’s except it’s three-quarter sleeve and is made of jersey instead of 100% pure silk.
The Issa for Banana Republic collection will also have a sleeveless version of the wrap dress. Since it launches in store and online August 8th, you’ll still get a a good wear out of them before the summer ends. Come fall, you can still wear the sleeveless version with a cadigan or turtleneck.
Naomi Watts was photographed wearing the printed version of the Issa x Banana Republic wrap dress while walking her Yorkie. The dress is a bit longer than it’s shown on the model. The collection marries Banana Republic’s iconic sense of effortless modernity with Issa’s feminine shapes and signature prints and it marks the first time Issa has collaborated with a global retailer.
Model Jessica Hart has been tapped for the British inspired campaign for the collaboration, which drops in stores and online August 8.
