Mr. Porter.Com launched its capsule collection titled The British Issue during this year’s London Collections: Men.  Each season, three London designers are hand selected to create pieces just for Mr. Porter.  This year Agi & Sam, Christopher Raeburn and J.W. Anderson were the chosen ones.

Agi Mdumulla and Sam Cotton created Agi & Sam in 2010, after working at Alexander McQueen. What drew their inspiration “this season was the country-gent look, with a Lord of Bath sort of vibe.”  They created a four-color hound’s-tooth wool jacket with covered buttons, and the split-panel T-shirt and shirt. The goal was to honor heritage and tweeds but not making it too obivous says the duo.

Christpher Raeburn launched his label in 2008 after studying at the Royal College and collaborating with Moncler and Victorinox. His first piece in The British Issue is a Hainsworth wool bomber jacket entirely produced in London. A lightweight bomber jacket is the second look, but is more breathable and waterproof because of a Japanese fabric with jersey lining. Raeburn used deconstructed military fabric for his final look with a olive-green Gore-Tex material. Good luck in grabbing one of these jackets as only 50 worldwide are available.

Jonathan Anderson launched his line in 2008. With a degree from the London College of Fashion, Mr. Porter has labeld Anderson as “one of London’s hottest names” due to his collaboration with Ms. Donatella Versace’s Versus line.
