Thom Browne created a cricket inspired menswear collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu. In its literal sense of translation, models showcased elements of the steadfast British pastime by carrying tools used to play the game. Of course the green turf and green leaved shrubbery gave it away.
It was preppy at its finest with a modern day take on what one would wear to a cricket match. Chestfield coats, quilted blazers, knitted cardigans and Bermuda shorts were given a fresh look. What broke up the collection was the layering and varying tunic lengths untucked from knee length shorts. The navy blue and red stripes broke up the sea of white.
Although some of these items aren’t truly wearable off the field, it’s great to see just how easy sports attire can be for a man’s wardrobe. Thom Browne’s creativity, playfulness and love of British style was evident in this collection.
