My daily skincare routine varies throughout the year due because of the change of seasons and my overall skin health. There are times when my face gets super dry and splotchy, or breaks out because of a bad diet or that time of month. For the past three weeks, I’ve done a skin routine overhaul and adopted a few new favorites that I simply can’t keep to myself. Aside from my Clarisonic face brush, I’ve added five new products that are worth a look of you’re in the market for new skin care products.
My routine is simple, I exfoliate with Rodan +Field Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste three times a week, cleanse with Eucerin Sensitive Skin Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser, follow up with Artistry Essentials Balancing Toner, treat my eye lids and under eye area with Olay Regenerist Eye and Lash Duo, moisturize with Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme and ward off harmful sun rays with Eucerin Daily Protection Mositurizing Face Lotion with broad spectrum SPF 30.
I’ve been using Rodan + Fields Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste for a few weeks and my skin is noticeably smoother. I use this product three times a week because I don’t want to over exfoliate my skin. Sometimes I use it twice a week depending on the condition of my skin.
What is it?
The Rodan + Fields Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste ($77) is a high-glide formulation made of sugar and salt crystals that gently exfoliate the skin and break down in water without harming the skin. It’s infused with Vitamin C and E to nourish the skin. The crystals are a bit rough so I apply water to my face first and then use it, although it can be used on dry skin for maximum.Since becoming a Eucerin Skincare Ambassador, I’ve been able to try many of their products, a few that surprised were the face products, which have really helped calm my skin. I switched cleansers and now use the Eucerin Sensitive Skin Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser, which has natural Licochalcone, which has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties to sooth and calm my skin, especially after exfoliation. I love the light formula that is soap-free and fragrance-free but still removes my makeup without a lot of elbow grease.
Why You Should Try it:
If you are prone to skin redness and irritation, the Eucerin Sensitive Skin Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser should be on your next shopping list. I also love that many of the Eucerin products are available at your local pharmacy and grocery store, which means no special trips are needed to get your hands on a bottle.
I’ve used several products from the Artistry skin care line over the last two years and always end up buying another jar or bottle. So while looking for a new toner, it was a natural fit to grab another bottle of the Artistry Essentials Balancing Toner to fit into my skin care routine.
Why use it?
If you have acne prone skin or want extra cleansing after washing off your makeup, a toner is a must. Not only that, toner also shrinks pores, gives you pH balance, adds a layer of protection by tightening cell gaps after cleansing, moisturizes and can even prevent ingrown hairs if it contains glycolic or other alpha hydroxy acids
How to Use it:
Pat your face dry after cleansing with a clean towel, then shake your toner to mix ingredients, apply a small amount to a cotton ball and gently apply all over your face.
I received the new Olay Regenerist Eye and Lash Duo in January from Glam Media to try out and review. I’ve been hooked ever since.
What is it?
The Olay Regenerist Eye and Lash Duo is a two in one product, one side is an anti-wrinkle and depuffing cream for both the eye lid and under eye areas. You apply a dab gently under your eyes and over the lids before your moisturizer and over the course of two weeks, you notice a big difference, results in one week. The formula tightens the eye area and smooths fine lines and wrinkles. For me, it does a great job at depuffing.
The second side of the Olay Regenerist Eye and Lash Duo is the eye lash serum which thickens my lashes instantly. I sometimes use it alone on days I go makeup free just for defined lashes. Most of the time, I use it as a lash primer to really make my eye lashes longer and fuller.
After my toner and eye and lash duo, I smooth a small amount of Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme to my face and neck to moisturize my skin. I use it twice a day, once in the morning and again at night. It is light and very moisturizing without being greasy. What I love about this product is that it’s got the antioxidant Q10,which prevents the damage and destruction of cells caused by free radicals. It also smooths and prevents wrinkles, an added bonus for a late twenties gal like myself.
The final step in my skin care routine is the application of a good sunscreen. I’m not talking about the sunscreen I use for my body but one specifically made for my face. For me, the Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion with broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen is an absolute must. Sun damage is nothing to laugh at, especially since it really ages the skin. A small dollop applied to my finger tips then onto my face and neck is all I need to complete my routine.
