For some time now, in order for a babe on a budget to an Oscar de la Renta original, she had to scout the thrift stores or wait for steep sales on Gilt or Net-a-Porter. Today, the designer has announced a new collection of more affordable pieces exclusively available at The Outnet, Net-a-Porter’s sale site.
Starting February 26, de la Renta will unveil his 24-piece capsule collection, which will feature pieces priced from $325 to $1,295 – an OdlR piece from his main collection will cost you several thousands. No joke!
Expect to see the designer’s signature ballgowns, ladylike blouses, and pencil skirts in florals and ikat prints with pops of red — all looks that Oscar fans will recognize, since they’ve been pulled from the de la Renta archives.
“We have things around here that are underutilized — [such as] 40 years of patterns, fabrics and artwork that a lot of people spent time on,” Oscar de la Renta CEO Alex Bolen told WWD. “We thought, perhaps we can put something together in a way that is new, that doesn’t require as much development time and in an exclusive way.”
We hope to see that gorgeous pink dress Carrie Bradshaw wore to the ballet with Alexander Petrovsky. Swoon!
