Sitting in the second row at the Herve Leger by Max Azria show, I saw first hand the craftsmanship dedicated to each piece Max and Lubov sent down the fall 2013 runway. To my relieve the husband and wife duo ditched the tired and boring body-con silhouettes all the starlets and socialites have been donning since the bandage dress’s resurgence several years ago. Instead, they replaced it with A-line silhouettes and more lady-like knee length sheath dresses in gorgeous prints and intricate beading.
Each look was paired with matching leggings that elongated the leg. Most models walked the runway with leather baseball caps as if to tell fans of the label to not take fashion so seriously. This is Max and Lubov at their very finest, telling the Herve Leger fan to grow-up and ditch the super tight bandage dress for more forgiving silhouette that will allow them one extr crab cake at that lavish fall wedding.
