Miuccia Prada’s Sketches for The Great Gatsby Costumes

Miuccia Prada has partnered with Baz Luhrmann on costumes for his upcoming film The Great Gatsby. Though the film is still six months away from its release, we’ve gotten a few teasers of the costumes, which Miuccia worked on with the film’s costume designer Catherine Martin.

Martin told British Vogue that “Baz and Miuccia have always connected on their shared fascination with finding modern ways of releasing classic and historical references from the shackles of the past.  This connection is central to our relationship with Miuccia Prada on The Great Gatsby, and has connected our vision with hers.”

We can’t wait to see all the lavish costumes in their grandeur come June/July but before that, below is a peak courtesy of Prada.  One look in particular, a blue dress, reminds us of a dress shown on the Spring 2011 Prada runway.  Are you excited yet for the movie?
