We’ve fallen in love with Lena Dunham for her candor and effervescent personality and so has the Hollywood Foreign Press, which awarded her show Girls with two Golden Globe Awards. Her talent is unquestionable but her style is lacking. She wore an ill-fitting purple Zac Posen gown that did absolutely nothing to enhance her figure for the awards last night.
Rumor has it she’s good friends with Posen, who created the dress for her. Uh, with friends like that, who needs enemies? Lena could have picked so many other great dresses and we get it, it’s tough to get designers to loan dresses to women over a size 4 but she could have called Tadashi Shoji to design something for her like he did for Octavia Spencer last year during awards season. We hope she gets a stylist who gets her body, personality and has the connections to help her dress better. Donna Karan and even Oscar de la Renta would have been great choices for her.
