Splurge or Steal: Clarisonic vs. Revlon Facial Cleansing Brush Systems

March 14, 2012

Clarisonic Facial Brush System has been the industry gold standard for years with yours truly being a staunch user of the Pro system, though many of my friends use the Mia Facial brushes.  As amazing as this facial brush system is, a lot of women out there can’t fathom spending upwards of $200 to reinvent their skin care routine.  I can attest to the fact that I frequent the spa less for facials because my Clarisonic does an amazing job removing impurities and makeup from my skin by using it twice a day.

A few weeks ago, I received the Revlon® Skin Renewal Pore and Facial Brush, retailing at a more palatable price of just $19.99.  I was a bit skeptical about such an affordable product and whether it would stand up to my mighty Clarisonic.

For starters, the Revlon is sleek with a nicely contoured handle that won’t slip even while using in the shower with my eyes closed.  It comes with three different brush heads designed to cleanse, exfoliate, massage and leave skin looking flawless; wheras my Clarisonic came with two of the same brush heads.

The Revlon Skin Renewal Pore and Facial Brush also spins in a circular motion to wick away impurities.  What I really loved about this kit is that it comes with with a blemish extractor and a rolling massager to increase circulation.

THE VERDICT: You don’t have to throw away your Clarisonic System if you already own one, however, if you are in the market for a facial brush system that works equally as well without breaking the bank, I highly recommend the Revlon Skin Renewal Pore and Facial Brush, which is available at drugstores, Walmart, Target and online retailers nationwide.  This system will also make a great gift for a college student so snag one and include in that care package.
