Alexander McQueen Fall 2012

I’m no fashion critic but can we all please stand up and give Sarah Burton a big round of applause for her fall 2012 collection for the storied Alexander McQueen label? In her fourth season for the British brand, Burton has had a lot of highs, with no signs of a plateau.  Her futuristic collection had me dreaming of floaty, notice me gowns for some kind of special occasion; perhaps the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Voluminous gowns and short dresses in inky black, scarlet red, powder pink and ivory closely resembled couture pieces.  There were lots of fantasy gowns that Sarah Jessica Parker, Daphne Guinness and Lady Gaga will be clamoring for.  The first few coats and dresses with delicate floral appliques will look sublime on the Duchess of Cambridge, who has worn several of Burton’s designs for the British label. Check out a few of my favorites below.
