I love Melissa rain shoes like a fat kid loves cake and will admit to wearing them even when the sun is beaming outside. The Brazilian footwear company has done many collaborations in the past, with Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu coming to mind as two of my favorites. With a huge celebrity fan base, it was only natural to get a few of the ultra fashionable ones to design some shoes for them. Enter Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, who has been tapped to design two shoes, a glittery pump and a ballet flat for Melissa’s new line ‘Loves Melissa.’
Ambrosio, who is currently expecting her second child, says ‘everyone in Brazil grew up wearing Melissa shoes’ and was excited to offer her ‘creative insight.’ Her shoes are named the Melissa Incense Glitter, a pump inspired by the ladylike style of the Fifties; and the Melissa Divine, a classic ballet flat. The Alessandra Loves Melissa shoes will debut this fall in stores and online. The model will also appear on the the cover of Melissa’s biannual magazine Plastic Dreams with an editorial spread by Sandrine Dulermo and Michael Labica.
