Mulberry Fall 2012 Made for Winter

February 21, 2012

“I always think a Winter show should actually be for Winter,” said Mulberry creative director Emma Hill backstage at her Fall 2012 show the British label.  Hill definitely delivered a collection made for winter with fur, and lots of it.  Knee length lace and leather skirts were layered with rich fur coats and vests in black, brown and blond.  Tailored wide leg trousers were paired with cozy knits and paired with lace-up booties.

Hill’s inspiration was Where the Wild Things Are and The Lost Explorer, as a result, there fantasy elements of grandiose outerwear, delicate prints in soft fur, zig-zag patterned knits and highly textured wools.  Of course the accessories, which Mulberry is well known for, did not disappoint.  There were bright pops of color introduced for the Mulberry signature handbag collection, as well as an introduction of a new bag named after British singer Lana Del Rey
