Launching in March 2012 is a fragrance collection from Italian fashion house Gucci. The Garden Collection aka Flora by Gucci, encompasses five floral scents with ‘G’ names: Gorgeous Gardenia, Gracious Tuberose, Glamorous Magnolia, Generous Violet and Glorious Mandarin. Each fragrance in the floral bouquet comes from the blossoms depicted on an iconic scarf designed by Vittorio Accornero for Princess Grace in the Sixties.
“So Gorgeous Gardenia because I wanted to underline the gorgeously feminine side of this fragrance. Glorious Mandarin because there’s a sort of euphoria in mandarin, since it’s such a sparkly fruit,” said Giannini.
The beautiful advertising campaign, shot by Sølve Sundsbø, features Abbey Lee Kershaw decked in a floral gown during sunset. “Basically, the idea was a sort of labyrinth where this woman was playing or walking or just sitting on the green,” explained Giannini. The Garden Collection by Gucci launches in March in the UK, followed by an April launch in other countries, including the US, Italy and Germany.
The mandarin and violet scents will be only available in Gucci flagships and select department store doors as 100-ml. eau de toilette sprays for $100. The other scents will be available in both the 100-ml and 50-ml bottles for $100 and $70, respectively.
