Alberta Ferretti Tapped as Next Designer for Macy’s Impulse Line

February 1, 2012

Karl Lagerfeld, Doo.Ri, Kinder Aggugini and Giambattista Valli have designed diffusion lines for the Impulse line for Macy’s and now it’s Alberta Ferreti’s turn.  Macy’s announced today that the Italian label will be its next partner for the successful designer collaboration project.  Ferretti will design 30 pieces inspired by the Amalfi Coast to be sold exclusively at Macy’s for 10 weeks starting April 17.   The collection, priced from $39 to $119 will be in 185 Macy’s locations, compared to 220 with previous capsule collections.

“The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style,” Ferretti said.

“Alberta Ferretti’s thriving business, international appeal and modern aesthetic enticed us to collaborate with her,” explained Jeff Gennette, Macy’s Inc.’s chief merchandising officer.

According to WWD, the collection will feature feminine dresses, peasant blouses, garden-party looks, oversize and abstract floral prints, knitwear and delicate fabrications like chiffon and voile are in the mix.  Though the target audience for the Alberta Ferretti for Impulse are women between the ages of 26 to 29, women in their 40s will also find age appropriate items in the collection.
