Object of Desire: Katherine Hooker Contrast Coat

November 8, 2011

Katherine Hooker has been on my radar ever since Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wore her earlier this year.  The London-based designer creates timeless coats and dresses, most can be made to order so that they fit like a glove.  On my list of objects I desire is the Contrast CoatContrast Coat all the Copy Kates have been coveting since spotting it on the newly minted royal.  This gem is very ladylike, sophisticated and very flattering on almost every figure.  It falls below the knee, the perfect length for either a skirt, dress or even jeans.  The coat is a bit pricey but that’s to be expected for something you’ll have in your closet for years.  It’s definitely an investment piece.

Katherine Hooker doesn’t have a brick and mortar store in the United States but she has set up shop in Soho with a month-long pop-up shop on Thompson Street.  Stop by and try on these coats and cold weather wear like fingerless gloves, scarves and separates.  Everything in stock can be made-to-order to fit you like a glove and with so many color combinations, you’ll be able to put your own signature on any piece you pick. Katherine Hooker Pop-up Shop (102 Thompson Street; between Spring and Prince Streets).
