Salma Hayek joined REDBOOK at the Hearst Tower or an exclusive screening of the highly-anticipated Shrek spinoff, Puss In Boots and to celebrate her November 2011 cover. With daughter Valentina in tow, Salma graced the red carpet in a ‘cat inspired’ Alexander McQueen dress and mused about the upcoming release of the film and her character, Kitty Softpaws. “I love my character, Kitty Softpaws especially because she’s a strong independent female,” she told fans before the start of the movie.
REDBOOK hosted a silent auction of women’s and children’s boots – nearly 40 pairs – which included top designers, such as Gucci, Bottega Veneta, YSL, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Tory Burch, among others. In honor of domestic violence awareness month – a cause Salma is very passionate about – all proceeds will benefit the V-Day and Pro Mujer charities.
