Ahh the Kennedy years! A time of glamour and magic, all thanks First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, who become one of the most famous style icons of the 20th century.   She wore this black silk velvet and Chinese yellow silk satin evening dress by Chez Ninon for a White House state dinner honoring President Manuel Prado of Peru on September 19, 1961.  Looking perfectly prim and proper, she completed the look with opera length white gloves.
