Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev nabbed our best dressed award for her gorgeous Donna Karan gown at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards this past Sunday.  What took her look the the next level was the ease in which she pulled off her makeup and hair.  A sexy side swept coif and a sultry smokey eye was all she needed to complete the look for the red carpet.  Here is a tutorial on how to nab that smoky eye with ease thanks to celebrity hair and makeup stylist Alma Qeraxhiu of the Alma G Salon & Spa (38 East 21st Street).

1.     Prep eye lids with an eye shadow primer.

2.     Apply M.A.C. black crayon eye pencil and blend with black Mac eye shadow. Blend in nicely to avoid harsh lines.

3.     Use a chestnut medium eyeshadow on the eye lids, blending outwards, to achieve slight smoky look.

4.     Highlight the eyebrow bone with nude shadow.

5.    To finish the look apply chestnut shadow with an angled brush on the bottom of the eye to create a soft line.

6.    To make the eye look bigger apply white eye pencil on the tear duct of the lower eyelash.

7.    Apply Diorshow mascara to eye lashes then follow up with false eyelashes, allow to dry.

8.    Apply M.A.C black crayon eye pencil over the false lashes then follow up with another coat of mascara.
