Italian footwear label Via Spiga hosted a breakfast for editors to view its Spring/Summer 2011 collection in the SoHo boutique. In attendance was the brand’s creative director, Paola Venturi, who walked editors through the collection, one piece at a time as two models walked the small runway. For Spring/Summer 2011, Ms. Venturi said the collection was inspired by a Native American footwear exhibit, with emphasis both style and comfort.
The Via Spiga footwear collection has something for everyone. For those seeking comfort over style, the footwear brand’s Spring collection has multiple flat thong sandals with intricate details like beading, rhinestones and exotic textures to dress up any look. Woven leathers and natural fibers were two materials that made appearances in a majority of the collection. For comfort and style, the Via Spiga collection was stocked with warm weather ready wedges and flatforms (low platform shoes). The 9-5 workers were also put into consideration while designing the reasonably priced shoe line. Pumps, peep-toe and flats in various heights and silhouettes rounded out the collection.
