LOFT hosted a presentation for its Fall 2011 collection last week at 632 Hudson, with a packed room of bloggers, online editors and print magazine editors. Robbie Myer was there, being walked around the fall collection that LOFT president says is ” the play on proportions.” Dark colors reigned supreme for LOFT’s Fall collection. Sticking with trends we saw from the major designers for Autumn/Winter 2011, the creative design team at LOFT added touches of luxury and elegance to cozy knit sweaters and jackets with faux fur and lace embellished baby soft t-shirts and silk shirts. The collection included a color palette of olive greens, blacks and charcoal colors with punches of orange, baby pink and purples brightening things up.
There is something for everyone in the LOFT Fall 2011 collection. Sophisticated pencil skirts the hit just below the knee are perfect for the intern starting her first job on Capitol Hill or for the teacher starting her first day of teaching; cozy knit dresses and cardigans for the college student on her first day of classes; flattering dress pants that can go with graphic print tops and blazers in the collection for the mom getting back into the workforce. After all, LOFT is all about affordable luxury. The lower priced brand of Ann Taylor does accessories extremely well and the Fall 2011 collection was no exception. Animal print bangles and cuffs, gold plated chains, pave crystal rings, leather textured watches and a colorful assortment of earrings and hair accessories balance the rich and well edited collection.
