Anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession with jewelry and currently I am obsessed with vintage and heritage jewelry. I have been fascinated by signet rings for a few years now and my fervent wish is to get one made with my family crest on it. Signet rings aren’t just for the Ivy League educated guy, they are fashion accessories. I came across Shipley & Halmos’ signet ring collaboration with Philip Crangi, which is currently available on the duo’s website.
The ring features the phrase “Ars Longa, Vita Brevis” (Life is Short, Art is Long) inscribed on the top and surrounded by cobalt blue enamel detail. The numbers “79” and “8” are engraved on each side of the ring which comes Philip Crangi’s traditional horseshoe chain included. You can wear it around your neck like wearing your boyfriend’s ring or wear it as a ring. I would love to make this my official seal on letters. How chic would that be?
