Indonesian designer Farah Angsana showed her beautifully edited collection for Spring/Summer ’11 last week. Staying true to her rich culture, Angsana presented a collection of well detailed dresses with luxurious embroidery, vibrant colors of greens and metallics and ornate headpieces that would have made Alexander McQueen proud.
The show stopping piece was a strapless gold sequin dress that glided down the runway like liquid gold. The dress is one of those red carpet pieces I can see Halle Berry or Zoe Saldana wearing to an awards ceremony or a dinner.  Seated in the front row was Real Housewives of New York City cast member Alex McCord with her hubbie Simon Van Kempen.  Before the show, Simon told us to look out for the gorgeous headpiece in the last look. The couple had the opportunity to take a sneak peak at the collection before the show commenced.   Alex gushed over a short frock that she said would be fabulous for a cocktail party or some event on the upcoming season of the Bravo hit reality series.
My overall take on the Farah Angsana collection is this: the sophisticated party girl or celebrity will have a fabulous time getting dressed this spring in thigh grazing frocks and mini metallic and embroidered dresses that are worthy of the red carpet or the front of a paparazzi lens.
