Spring 2011 Sneak Previews | Custo Barcelona

August 28, 2010

As September quickly approaches, we can’t help but feel giddy about the tents opening up once again, this time at the Lincoln Center.  What makes us even more excited about Fashion Week is getting the invitations from designers to see their shows.  Our Custo Barcelona invitation came in this week along with a sneak peek of the Spring 2011 collection.

For spring 2011, Custo Barcelona infuses “positive energy, freshness and free spiritedness” into its Custo Everyday and Custo Let’s Party (daywear and evening wear respectively) as well as its Lowxuy collections.  The Custo Everyday will spotlight denim, worn slouchy and baggy with a Boho chic silhouette.  Custo Let’s Party will feature sexy looks, shoulder pads, generous necklines, knee-length pieces, and asymmetrical, slightly oversized pieces in sand washed silk for a vintage effect.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

COLOR: Bright colors Custo Barcelona is known for but also anticipate pale, dusty and nude
shades for day; brightest colours in the Custo palette mixed with earth tones, khaki, sand and black and with bright appliqués in passementerie and guipure lace. Fuchsia, jade, aquamarine and mauve sparkles

FABRICS: Line and Jersey with embroidery, applique and patchwork; Arty geometry and colourful, more figurative microprints, velour and leather.

EXCITED ABOUT: tricot waistcoats, sweaters and scarves with very open weave to look like holes and macro crochet; dresses and loose shirts in guipure and pieces in viscose.
