Scentsational | Bleu de Chanel Fragrance Film by Martin Scorcese

August 30, 2010

Frenchman Gaspard Ulliel (of “Hannibal Rising”) stars as actor for Bleu de Chanel

Extravagance and luxury are both synonymous with the Chanel brand, which is why everything Karl Lagerfeld signs off must be perfect and top of the line.  The French fashion house teamed up with legendary director Martin Scorcese for a beautiful short film that launched last week on its Facebook page for its new male cologne Bleu de Chanel.

With the tag line “Be Unexpected,” the film, staring Hanibal Rising’s Gaspard Ulliel, resonates the rebelliousness of the ’60s with the lead character announcing to the press that “I’m not going to be the person that I am expected to be anymore,” after recollecting recent events through a montage, as the Rolling Stones’ “She Said Yeah” plays in the background.  The limited Bleu de Chanel cologne retails for $59 and comes in an eau de toilette spray and an aftershave lotion on the Chanel site.

If you’re wondering what to expect from Bleu de Chanel, the brand describes its new scent as:

A new, woody aromatic fragrance for the man who defies convention, and resists the ordinary every day, finding satisfaction in the unexpected. His fragrance, a provocative blend of citrus and woods, liberates the senses — fresh, clean, profoundly sensual — a signature statement of determination and desire. Be unexpected.
