Slated to hit 200 Macy's department stores and online is the Material Girl clothing line by legendary singer Madonna and her daughter Lourdes. Designed for a spontaneous and fearless individual who invents her own fashion trends and isn't afraid to make a bold, creative statement, the Material Girl collection is a representation of Madonna's early years. The collection includes apparel, handbags and footwear, jewelry and hair accessories, all retailing from $12 to $40.
The Material Girl collection launches on August 3rd in Herald Square in New York City with the face of Material Girl standing in for Madonna and Lourdes. The mother-daughter duo handpicked the Material Girl celebrity spokesmodel. This celeb's identity is being kept a secret until the end of July but the label hits at the person, saying she is: on a hit teen drama series and is known for her frayed, rocker-tinged style off-screen. My guess: TAYLOR MOMSEN of Gossip Girl.
Girls itching to meet the Material Girl herself can enter the sweepstakes to meet her on September 22 at the Macy's Herald Square in NYC. There's also a blog, penned by Lourdes herself, as well as a twitter page for those wanting to keep tabs on the collection before it launches.
