NET-A-PORTER announces menswear launch – Mr Porter

June 15, 2010

It isn’t fair to let the girls have all the fun is it?  For ten years, women have enjoyed a blissful shopping experience on Net-a-Porter, a high end online boutique that carries the most coveted designer collections each season.  You can say that Net-a-Porter is a global shopping destination that is open for business 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, come rain or shine. The company announced last week that it is in the process of launching a men’s shop dubbed MR PORTER, the first shopping destination of its kind that will offer the most discerning selection of men’s fashion along with original editorial and style advice.

MR PORTER will launch with the Spring/Summer 2011 collection of Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Lanvin, YSL, Margiela, Balmain, Dunhill, Margaret Howell, Rick Owens, John Lobb and MR by the designer Roland Mouret in January 2011.  The site will offer about 60 of the best men’s wear brands and deliver to 170 countries worldwide.

NET-A-PORTER.COM founder Natalie Massenet says:

“This is an incredibly exciting new venture for us and one we have been planning for some time. We have always said that NET-A-PORTER will remain a woman’s brand and now we are ready to create a dedicated men’s shopping destination entirely conceived with the stylish man in mind. We have a ready-made customer base for our men’s business. 100% of Net-a-porter customers have a man in their lives in some capacity and 59% of them are married or living with their partners. 3 million unique users trust and love Net-a-porter’s service and will be invited to make a purchase for the men in their lives. Additionally we look forward to welcoming a new group of super stylish men who join us to shop for themselves with the same level of service, dedication and commitment that women have had for the last decade.”

MR PORTER will offer same day delivery service in London and Manhattan with express delivery to the rest of the world.
