The Glamazon Diaries on My Fox DC for Junior League of Washington Tossed & Found

March 30, 2010

The Junior League of Washington’s largest annual spring fundraiser is a three-day sale offering bargain shoppers quality pre-owned housewares, fashions, books, sporting goods, electronics, and furniture. The event was last weekend with tens of thousands of items for sale, including furniture, electronics, clothing, books and kitchen wares. All goods sold at Tossed and Found are donated by the generous members, friends, and community partners of the Junior League of Washington, and all proceeds benefit the Junior League of Washington’s targeted grants and community programs.

I was invited to join three other Washington fashionistas for a Fashion Challenge that was aired on Fox affiliate WTTG last Tuesday morning at the Shops at Crystal City.  We had to rummage through the large assortment of clothes, shoes and accessories to put together looks for real women.  There was something for everyone at the Tossed & Found sale, some things were a little hard to find but once I narrowed your goal to what I was looking for, I was able to put together two distinct looks for my models.

The first was a work to cocktail look for Libby. I found a blue polka dot wrap dress that cost just $15 and accessorized it with brown shoes, $10, a brown clutch, faux pearls and some sunglasses. My second look was a casual chic look that I called my “June Carter Cash” look.  I outfitted my model in a printed halter sundress added a denim jacket, which is super trendy this spring, added black kitten heels and a guitar for her debut on the country music stage.
