Monday night was beauty night with the Glamazon Diaries. I hosted a Spring into Beauty Night at PR at Partners as part of my Glam in the City series to bring my readers out to check out my favorite salon in Washington. The night was all about getting primped and pampered with beauty, hair and skincare treatments just for Glamazon Diaries guests. The salon, which is located at Metro Center (1001 G Street, NW) closed its doors to the public to give the girls and guys an open forum to ask their most sought after answers to beauty, hair and skincare challenges.
Master stylist and owner of PR at Partners – Metro Center Jacqui Davis gave us a few beauty tutorials on the proper way to curl hair with both a curling iron and a flat iron, how to use hair powder to make your do last a bit longer in between washes and a lot more tips that you had to be there to see the visuals to take in the tips and tricks.
A beauty night isn’t complete without satisfying a girl’s sweet tooth. Thanks to Dupont Circle bakery Hello Cupcake, whose deliciously irresistible cupcakes were the talk of the room as guests noshed on flavors like 24 Carrot – the names says it all; You Tart – a lemon cake with lemon frosting; Heart of Darkness – a chocolate confection the bakery says is strictly for the chocoholics; tiramisu – an espresso cake with mascarpone icing and so much more.
A huge thank you goes out to my friends for coming out to support me. Thanks to Nadine Namoff and Glamazon Diaries intern Tori for setting up while I got all dolled up by PR at Partners’ Bonnie Love. A big thank you to all my friends for coming, including Stephanie Green, Dannia Hakki, Howard Cromwell, Laura Carlson, Donna Lee, Amanda Little, Samantha Strauss and the new readers who came out to support me as well. We’re going to do more the Glam in the City series and welcome your thoughts and suggestions on venues and topics. A big thank you to Jeff Tong for taking those fabulous pictures.
