Football season will be over come spring and summer but that doesn’t mean we can’t draw inspiration from the uniforms worn by the players throughout the year. Alexander Wang’s spring/summmer 2010 collection was inspired by football uniforms throughout the history of the NFL. WWD gave us a sneak peek at the accessories from the collection two months ago. The “Brady Football Clutch” was a favorite of mine because it was named after my favorite quarterback, Tom Brady.
Photos from the spring/summer campaign were unveiled earlier this week featuring models Anja Rubik, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Edita Vilkeviciute, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Mirte Maas and Liu Wen, looking casual and chic in messy hair dos and Pippi Longstocking-esque braids. It’s time to hit the gym hardcore, if we’re to embrace the midriff bearing tops and mini skirts. My eye is on the puffy sleeve and lace-up top the looks like a couture sweatshirt and the cuffed pant.
