Tom Ford’s directorial debut of A Single Man

December 29, 2009

Despite the major design houses going bankrupt due to the lack of investors, fashion shows whittling down production because of budgetary woes and designers trying to stay relevant with lower priced collection, this year was a good year for fashion. Anna Wintour lit a fuse under consumers and encouraged them to spend during Fashion’s Night Out, she also starred in R.J. Cutler’s documentary The September Issue, Valentino: The Last Emperor was a huge success and Tom Ford made his directorial debut with his film A Single Man.

When I head that Tom Ford had nabbed Colin Firth and Julianne Moore to star in his film, I knew it would be a huge success. Tom Ford’s eye for details in every aspect of his career was brought to the silver screen. The movie looks very good and the costumes in the movie speak for themselves. The movie has been nominated for three Golden Globe nominations including:
Colin Firth for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama, Julianne Moore for her supporting role, and Best Original Score.
