Recession Chic: Julep Consignment has Chanel

December 12, 2009

I’ve been raving about Georgetown boutique We One You Two for almost two years now, not because I know the owners, but because of the great eye Krista, the main buyer, has for fabulous and unique pieces. A couple of months ago, Krista, who stars in the docu-series Blonde Charity Mafia, told me that the boutique started consigning and that I had to come by and check out the selection. I didn’t know what to expect but she told me how much quality high end designer items the store had received from fans of the shop. From Chanel to Celine, Chloe to Dolce and everything in between, Julep Consignment, nestled inside We One You Two is THE place to go for designer items.

I spent over three hours in the shop today, taking pictures and chatting up the shop gals as they priced new items and gave me a tour of the two floors of frocks from Washington socialites, who will remain nameless. If you are in the market for a luxury item like say a Louis Vuitton bag, or a one of a kind Chanel dress? You have to stop by Julep Consignment, which is located at 1525 Wisconsin Avenue, NW in Georgetown. I wanted to start my series of write-ups about some of the treasures I found at the store with an immaculate black and white abstract print Chanel frock, modeled by my friend Sophie, also with Blonde Charity Mafia.

The construction of the dress is very Chanel, with great attention to detail. The pleating on the back adds some dimension to the dress. I only wish I could fit into this dress because it is a stunner. Sophie is wearing the dress with black patent Prada pumps, which are also available at the boutique.

The bow detailing adds so much sophistication to the dress. You don’t really need any accessories with this. Small pearl studs and a simple bracelet will be the perfect compliment to the frock.
