Beyoncé to launch first fragrance "Heat"

December 29, 2009

Beyoncé is no longer a triple threat as she as fragrance designer to her resume which includes a very successful singing career, a clothing line and an acting career. The perfume, dubbed “Heat” for the explosively hot tours the chanteuse has put on in recent years, launches in February but that hasn’t stopped fans from complimenting her on her creation.

“I’ve been working on it for a while now. I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing! The fans loved it. They were like, ‘I love that, I’m getting that, why isn’t it out right now? I need it!” says Beyoncé.

On the name:
“A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold.”

On the bottle:
“I wanted something with an antique yet modern feeling,” she said. “Even with my wardrobe, I always try to find things that have a little bit of something vintage, yet still timeless and classic.”

Heat, a collaboration with Coty Beauty, will be available at specialty stores like Macy’s and will retail between $39 and $59. With top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, those who flock towards fruity scents will likely be instant fans of “Heat.” The eaux de parfum will come in three sizes, as well as sparkling body lotion.
