It’s Disco Inferno with Forever 21 Twist

Forever 21 just unveiled a new advertorial for its Twist label and it's taking us way back. Back to the disco era with flash flash and more flash. Sequins, afros, high waisted leather shorts, purples, silvers, chunky jewelry, fabulous shoes and an attitude to match. Nothing in the collection is over $50 and despite the lack of cloth covering bodies in this campaign, particularly for this time of year, I love that the leggings and opaque tights, in vibrant colors of course, make a cameo on the models. I want to do the hustle all night in these outfits

    Forever 21 can provide some great flashy pieces for a night out, but they have really outdone themselves with UGLY in this new "Twist" collection. Not only are some of the Twist pieces tacky and the opposite of fashionable, most of the outfits are clearly poorly constructed to the point of unwearable.
    Some evidence: The t-shirt with the huge print of purple legs in leopard(?) stripper platforms. What girl whats to have a pair of legs in ugly shoes coming out of their neck? And as for poor construction (even for Forever 21), just take a look at the belted black dress to the right of the second picture featuring the platform tshirt. The cups in that dress are SO noticeably over-sized for the model, and even in a small picture, you can see the puckering in the seams around the cups and the odd folds in the material. Sure Forever 21 is a place where most women go for cheap outfits they only plan to wear once, but they cannot expect to attract a huge audience with this new collection.
