Burr! It’s starting to get cold out there. Cooler weather means times to wrap up in soft and comfy fabrics that will keep us cozy as the weather quality deteriorates into blistering cold and wind. I’ve always found comfort in coats, faux fur coats mostly because I couldn’t afford buying the real thing. The thought of wearing a dead animal’s fur on my body makes me cringe to some extent but I do not scold anyone else from wearing real fur. It’s a matter of personal choice, therefore I will not be debating the ethics of fur on this site.
Moving on! I loved what Peter Dundas did at Emilio Pucci for the A/W 09 collection. The vibrant prints that have become synonymous with Pucci was resurrected in frocks and separates but not as overtly as the Pucci of years past. One of my favorite pieces from fall show was this blue fur coat in what looks like fox or marmot. This coat will probably run upwards of $5000 but we mere mortals can get the look for a lot less, in the form of faux fur of course. The blue Pucci fur coat is lined with the signature Pucci print and denim, a welcomed surprise that adds a little bit of a playful touch to the coat.
The shorter fur coat is not really meant for dresses. Slim fitted pants, cropped pants, leggings, billowy tops, turtle necks and crew neck t-shirts would look darling with the coat. Limit accessories to studs and a bracelet. I have combed the web to find some affordable styles to fit any budget.
