The Washington Kastles tennis team kick off the season tonight at the Kastles stadium downtown with tennis great Venus Williams, who comes fresh off the courts of winning the doubles at Wimbledon and placing second in the singles.
Last night I got the chance to meet the Kastles team during the meet and greet happy hour at Hudson Restaurant & Lounge in the West End. Talking tennis, enjoying specialty cocktails and catching up with the gals was fun but the highlight of my night was challenging Scott “Boom Boom” Oudesma to a match. I’ve gotten comments about looking like Serena Williams but the talent and skill of playing tennis is not comparable in anyway. I think I will just stick to writing about the tennis outfits….
