The best advice I ever received from my mom regarding skin care is to always wash my face and moisturize. I didn’t really know what a difference adopting a skin regimen would make until I went to the Clinique counter to get a skin care analysis done. After a series of questions about how my skin feels after cleansing, oiliness issues and other skin problems I suffer from frequently, I discovered that I am a 4 in the Clinique skin solution, meaning I have oily to combination skin.
I have always washed my face in the mornings but never really thought twice about washing off my makeup after a night out. I usually crash on my bed, leaving dark makeup stains on my pillows and comforter. This has gone on for years and years and at the age of 25 I really knew it was time to find out how to get my skin in check.
After my skin consultation, I received a package of skin care products specific for my skin. The first thing I learned from Clinique was the three step system, which includes a cleanser, toner and moisturizer. I took it a step further with three times a week exfoliation, which is very very important because it sloughs off the dead skin cells and allows for better circulation and makeup application.
My main skin care problem was dullness and scars from acne when I was younger. It’s scared and I guess I never really used the lightening creams often enough to clear up my skin. My goal is to be able to go makeup free every single day so at age 26 now, I am learning the importance of skin care. After my three step Clinique system, I use a twice a day eye cream to prevent fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. I finish off my routine with SPF 25 all over my face and throat. Suncare is very important to me.
Having a darker complexion means I do not burn but I need to keep my skin protected. I use the Clinique Sun SPF 30 all over areas that are exposed after moisturizing with cocoa butter lotion.
It’s been thirty days since I started using the entire Clinique system and I have to say I am amazed at the results. My face looks a lot clearer and I really think my foundation and powder go on better and I use a lot less them. The splotches on my skin are clearing up and the dryness I used to feel around my cheeks after washing is gone. I can’t stress the importance of great skincare ladies. It’s one of those things that if done properly and often, will improve your appearance drastically.
