Tinsley Mortimer’s Cheap & Chic Spring Outfit

New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer can afford to look chic on almost any budget but in this economy, she is trimming the spending on spring trends by shopping at chain stores like Express, The Limited and Victoria’s Secret. Tinsley featured along with seven other trendsetters on Oprah.com wearing spring trends that every woman can afford. I guess even the rich sometimes have to whittle back on the excess and look for creative ways to look chic on a budget. Frankly I don’t think Tinsley is the type of woman who will wear an Express cardigan or earrings from the Limited but I will entertain the idea.

Tinsley’s outfit is the perfect work combo. It’s also professional for a business casual office. What I love about the outfit is that it looks more expensive than it really is and can be mixed and matched with other items most women have in their closet. For instance switching the skirt for jeans and gladiator sandals will instantly give you a new weekend shopping outfit. You can also wear the cardigan over a sheath dress or a white dress and wear the same gladiator sandals for brunch with the girls. The possibilities are limitless. I give Tinsley major kudos for looking fab in brands she probably would not wear any other time. She said she loved the cardigan so much that she wanted it in every color. Well at just $34.50, she can definitely afford to get all of them for the cost of a pair of Christian Louboutins.

Crunching the numbers for Tinsley’s ensemble
Cardigan: $34.50
Tank top: $18.00
Earrings: $16.50
Bangles: $50.00
Skirt: $69.50

Total: $188.50

    She actually looks great!
It’s just funny to see Tinsley’s name in the same sentence with cheap.
