Washingonians shine at Inaugural festivities

January 23, 2009

The madness that was the inauguration is finally over and I am slowly getting back down to planet Earth. If the guests at some of the local parties are any indication of what Washington has to offer in terms of fashion, we are in for a fun ride. Quintessentially, a global luxury concierge service threw a party at Georgetown hidden hot spot L2 Lounge for its clients and some movers and shakers in the Washington area.

Guests mingled, sipped on bubbles and bourbon and danced to the night away. What made this night even more delightful for me was the incredibly well-dressed women at the party. Ladies with perfectly coifed hair, polished make-up and wearing the seasons biggest trends. I snapped a couple of photos of guests who stood out from the pack.

Danielle wore the season’s trend of big jewelry, gold and fresh clean makeup. Her tube dress with green and black starburst print is perfectly accessorized with big leaf earrings and an assortment of bracelets and cuffs that compliment the colors of in her dress. She also knows that less is more and skipped on the necklace. I love her use of textures in her choice of filigree cuffs and Chanel inspired chain bracelets.

Samantha, Allison, Jess and Gina looked magnificent as well. The one shoulder trend is very popular this season. Samantha chose a cocktail length black one shoulder number and played up her eyes with a smokey look (from M.A.C). Purple was the color of the night. A lot of the party go-ers looked sunkissed and glowed in this magestic color. Allison added gold chandelier earrings and gold bib necklace, which is a must have to spruce up any outfit, for mega watt style. Jess, a stylist for Styleauteur, chose an v-neck LBD with a statement necklace and looked effortlessly chic. Gina, in a purple sheath dress, layered a long strand of pearls to channel her inner first lady. All the ladies in attendance get two thumbs up.
