Sarah Jessica Parker and Matt Dillon at the Kennedy Center

January 14, 2009

I had the opportunity to meet Sarah Jessica Parker and Matt Dillon at the Kennedy Center on Monday night.  The pair hosted a one night only performance of George Packer’s play “Betrayed” to benefit Refugee International and the List Project, an organization founded on the belief that “the United States Government has a clear and urgent moral obligation to resettle to safety Iraqis who are imperiled due to their affiliation with the United States of America.”

Before the event, we attended a VIP reception to mingle with the cast and take photos with Matt Dillon, who joined the Refugee International’s board of directors in May 2008 and Sarah Jessica Parker, whose brother Pippin directed the play about the plight of Iraqi interpreters working at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.  The actors, who had not rehearsed the play on the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater stage prior to the performance, received a standing ovation for their moving and eye opening performance.
Sarah Jessica Parker took the time to pose for the camera and I couldn’t help but get in front of the camera for a photo op with the stye star who wore an “old [Emanual] Ungaro” tartan dress with a statement making bow in the back.  She looked so chic with her perfectly coifed bun, demure makeup and glittery black peep toe pumps.  See below for more pics from the evening.
