Move Over Purple, Red is the Hot Trend

October 2, 2008

Red makes a comeback as one of the it colors of the season in September’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar. The ultimate power color has been revamped for fall by designers like Alexander McQueen and Prada, who know that a girl has to heat up any room in the cold months ahead. If wearing a red dress or outfit is too, accessorizing with red is a simple and effective way of feeling hot. Get a head start on the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz ruby slippers by wearing red all year round.

Throughout the presidential campaign, Sarah Palin has been wearing her power color, red, in every photograph. She wore the Naughty Monkey Double Dare Pumps in red when McCain announced her as the vice presidential nominee. Just last night, she looked fierce in a black suit and red pumps and looked very confident.

This outfit looks like something that Satine would have worn in Moulin Rouge. The exotic red feathered Alexander McQueen gown is for the ultimate diva. Naomi Campbell turned some heads in the peacock McQueen gown a couple of weeks ago during her runway show and you can do the same in this red one. Play up textures with feathers. What makes this gown special is the unconvetional choice of feathers used as the main fabric.
