Please Woo Me Jason…

June 11, 2008

I love Jason Wu’s Resort 2009 collection; it is a girls dream. The designer’s mix of silk tulle and high gauze knits is reminiscent of a sandy white beaches and cotton candy. His well constructed dresses and knitwear was inspired by a trip to Bondi Beach, Australia. Wu delivers beautiful sheath dresses, silk tulle cocktail and evening wear in shades of blush and lipstick red that are youthful yet sophisticated. A favorite in the resort collection is a one shouldered silk tulle dress in a mossy color so feminine that it reminds me of the Mid-summer night’s Dream. Wu’s collection was not just about the frills and thrills. His collection of cardi-jackets, Katherine Hepburn-esque wide legged pants and beautiful knits are all classic foundation pieces for any fashionista’s wardrobe.
