How often do you buy goopie lip gloss, only to toss it out because it wears off with one sip of wine? How often do you toss that lipstick because it does not hydrate your lips like it’s supposed to? Last night, I went to the Sassanova Spring Soiree hosted by Washington Life magazine and got the change to try a new lip gloss that delivered on the promise to keep lips moisturized, nourished and sultry without reapplying.
The brain child of Jody Cohen, a makeup artist and Bostonian, Cosmoholic lipgloss has been keeping Hollywood starlets looking perfectly pouty. I sampled Bossy Berry, a dark red lipstick reminiscent of something Betty Davis would wear and was pleased with how soft and velvety it left my lips. The pigment is not over bearing; in fact, I couldn’t believe how long it last on my lips without coming off. A couple of glasses of wine and bites of bruschetta and pizza later and my lips were still a lovely stain of berry.
Cosmoholic lipgloss comes in seven beautiful shades of reds, berries and pinks and a shimmer golden color appropriately named Gold Digger. At just $23 each, these glosses will become a favorite of yours. What is even more impressive is that the lip gloss also doubles up as a cheek stain. I know we all love multi-tasking makeup. Washingtonians can pick up a tube of Cosmoholic lipgloss at Sassanova (1063 Wisconsin Avenue, NW) in Georgetown. For everyone else, log on to www.cosmoholiconline.com.
I also got the chance to interview the woman behind the makeup. Check out the video here.
