Beyonce in Custom Rubin Singer for Pepsi Super Bowl Half Time Performance

Beyonce Knowles in Rubin Singer

Beyonce Knowles shut all naysayers up tonight during her high octane performance at the Pepsi Super Bowl Half Time Show. The R&B singer sang some of her biggest hits and even surprised fans with a Destiny’s Child reunion featuring Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. For her performance, Beyonce chose a black leather and lace leotard by Rubin Singer.

Beyonce and her stylist Ty Hunter worked with Rubin Singer right after Thanksgiving last year to design the costume inspired by the Valkyries from the Norse mythology. According to Rubin, “A woman with power, focus, and unbridled sexuality; not unlike Ms. Knowles herself, was the starting point.” The Valkyries were mythical creatures who decided the fates of soldiers in battle. With such a fierce inspiration in mind, Rubin sources materials like python and iguana to make the costume.

She wore flesh colored fishnet stockings, black leather fingerless gloves, black knee high socks and black Proenza Schouler booties to complete the look. Beyonce also wore a short sleeve black jacket during the intro but stripped out of that to perform hits like Baby Boy, Halo, Love on Top, End of Time and Single Ladies.
