First Lady Michelle Obama stole the show on Inauguration day when she donned an A-line dress and matching coat for the Swearing-In ceremony of President Barack Obama. The navy check outfit was designed by designer Thom Browne, who’s new prep style resonates with the First Lady and high powered career women and fashion’s golden girls.
Though a Thom Browne piece will set you back at least $1000, we can’t help but drool over his classic silhouettes and prep school inspired prints. Moda Operandi has his pre-fall 2013 collection now on sale. The dress the first lady wore (left) is part of that collection but is not on sale. Quelle dommage!
We’re coveting all the circle skirts and blazers, which cost upwards of $3000. At least a classic black shirt selling for $300 is a bit more palatable. Link to the trunkshow (ends tomorrow): http://bit.ly/W0t9u0
