BEAUTY CORNER MAKEUP — 11 July 2012

I have been a beauty counter junky since middle school, when my mom approved my wearing tinted moisturizer and lip gloss.  I often spent more time buying Tiger Beat to ogle at JTT (those under the age of 18 might not remember him) and buying makeup to try on at home.  I’ve also been a Maybelline addict, never leaving home without adding a swipe of the Maybelline Great Lengths Lots of Lashes mascara.  The brand is affordable and available in every Duane Reade, CVS, Walmart, Target and other mass market retail stores, drug stores and grocery stores.  You might say it’s affordable and convenient beauty.

I recently started trying Maybelline’s line of nail polishes and can’t seem to stop buying more.  The Color Show Nail Lacquers are a favorite, with 40 bold colors, including several shades of pink, grey and a mega watt red that will stop traffic.  Last week I stopped in at my local Duane Reade and discovered a new color, the Maybelline Color Show Denim Collection, which comes in two colors – denim dash and styled out – inspired by America’s favorite item, blue jeans. I’m currently obsessed with the Denim Dash, which looks superb, especially with a red dress.
